About Me

I’m here to share my favorite lawn and landscape tips, and general love of plants and dirt! Join me in the backyard and discover how you can plant your way to a successful landscape.

Welcome to Plant for Success! With so much generic and contradicting information out there I decided to create a place for tried and true landscaping, and lawn care information. I hope this site improves your landscape and fuels your passion for everything green.

More About Me …

My name is Mark Melchione and I graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2007 with a degree in Economics. At that point in my life I thought I would enter into white collar world, climb the corporate ladder and be on my way to a happy life.

After 2 torturous months inside, underneath fluorescent lights, I literally ran out of the office and never went back. Not knowing what to do next, I naturally gravitated to landscaping work to pay the bills. I liked it so much I started a small landscaping company which I ran for the next 6 years. During this time is when I discovered my love for plants and landscapes which has only grown today.

I eventually sold the landscaping company to take on a job as a construction foreman which is what I do today. I love being a part of large construction projects.

When I’m not on the construction site I’m most likely in my backyard working in my plant nursery. I have converted my backyard into a profitable plant nursery, where I grow thousands of plants every year!

My wife Stephanie helps run the register during my plant sales, and my 3-year-old daughter Taylor loves saying hi to the customers. My dog Toby is a Morkie, and his main mission in life is to get belly rubs.

I got the inspiration to start Plant for Success from my wife. She is a successful food blogger and has taught me a lot about blogging. She has encouraged me to share my knowledge and love for plants and landscapes with the world.
